The Kitchen Sink

"Jono is a joy to work with. In addition to his vast recording studio skill set, decades of experience, and finely tuned ear, he is also a genuinely fun person to be around. As both an artist and engineer, he’s played and worked with the best of the best— apparent in his guitar and studio skills, but not in his manner. He is self-effacing, but not lacking in confidence or creativity. He knows how to get the job done, and done very well. Any success I’ve had as a recording artist over the last decade has been due in large part to my decision to work with Jono. Almost without exception, whatever he touches becomes exponentially better— and we have a great time working on it!"   ~ Lara Manzanares (Singer / Songwriter)

I also have a world of experience in helping my clients plan ahead, manage their time in the studio, and meet their production goals. No matter what the budget, there's always a way to get it done. (Or, as a wise man once said: "There's a lot of  ways to skin a cat. You just have to get the cat to cooperate")  Depending on the scope and projected timeline of a given project we will, at times, also establish "per project" block rates.

"I have made eight full-length albums engineered by, and produced or co-produced by, Jono Manson – six as a solo artist and two with my trio The Limeliters. The first project was at his rustic Chupadero space and the others at his very impressive facility on Jose Street in Santa Fe. What I have come to realize is that, beyond certain rudimentary essentials, the facility has relatively little to do with creating great recordings. What
makes all the difference is the knowledge, skill, and personality of the person wrangling the technology, and wrangling the artist(s).

At first, I was fairly new to the process, having made only five records previously, and never in a “real” studio, and not yet knowing Jono very well. Those factors turned out not to be obstacles at all. From the minute I started hauling my instrument cases in the door, and actually even before that as we discussed the album concept and the songs long-distance, he treated me as an old friend and a pro and put me completely at ease.
I could focus on performing the best versions of my art and leave the rest to Jono and  know that he would handle everything in the very best way possible with no fanfare or drama, just calm, comfortable confidence and comprehensive knowledge of his craft and art. There is no one else I want to work with as an engineer or producer.

And after the first album The Limeliters recorded with Jono, when the subject of making another record came up I asked the guys where they’d like to record (since they both live in Austin, Texas and have access to some great studios). They replied, 'With Jono, of course!' " - Daniel Boling (Singer/Songwriter)
